1   DSWD Digitization Project Culmination and End-user Training Activity

Venue: Navigatu, Mechatronics Building, Caraga State University.
Caraga State University had delivered the outputs as specified in the Project Memorandum of Agreement even amid the pandemic crisis to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) through the CSU-DSWD Digitization Project. Last June 10, 2020, a Project Culmination and End-user Training Activity were conducted at Navigatu, Mechatronics Building, Caraga State University. It was attended by various stakeholders of the project. Mr. Ramil Jamen, OIC Director of the Department of Social Welfare and Development, along with his salient officials and end-users of the system had graced the said activity. Also for CSU, President Anthony M. Penaso, some key officials, Dean of the College of Computing and Information Sciences, faculty member representatives from the different CCIS departments, and the project team led by Dr. Jaymer M. Jayoma were present.
The One-day event had started with an opening prayer and national anthem through an audiovisual presentation followed with the introduction of participants by Engr. Rudolph Joshua U. Candare, CSU-DSWD project staff. Opening remarks and rationale were given by Prof. Jaymer M. Jayoma, Project Leader/ Center Head, Center of Human-Computer Interaction. Professor Jayoma highlighted the project milestones and project deliverables. Then, Mr. Elbert S. Moyon, Programmer and an Information Systems faculty member of Caraga State University had introduced the salient features of the DSWD Records Management System, core output of the project. He stressed out the functionalities and the modularities of the system and how it works.
The University President, Dr. Anthony M. Penaso had delivered his Message. He elucidated the competence and caliber of the College in the field of ICT. He also mentioned some of the CCIS research and extension developments and engagements that had impacted the community like the information systems in the University, Certification Authentication and Verification System (CAVS) of Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Sultan Kudarat State Univesity (SKSU) engagements and others. He said that partnering with the DSWD was an honor to the University and he hoped for more partnerships and engagements. A response was then given by Mr. Ramil F. Jamen, OIC DSWD Regional Director. He mentioned his trust and confidence in Caraga State University. He then delivered his acceptance message to the DSWD Records Management System. He also hoped for more engagements to CSU especially for the College of Computing and Information Sciences. Mr. Jaymer M. Jayoma, presented the next step to the project. He mentioned that even the project has come to its end but the college will be continuing its support and enhancements to the program and it will be under the CCIS-Extension Project.

The afternoon session was focused on the end-user training for the DSWD office representatives. It was facilitated by the two programmers, Mr. Edsel Matt Morales and Elbert Moyon. They let the participants tried the system to the different modules like scanning, uploading, searching and other functionalities. A user's feedback was then gathered to further improved the system's functionalities that will serve as input for the program enhancements. Lastly, Dr. Rolyn C. Daguil, dean of CCIS delivered his closing remarks.
The project was indeed a success. Thank you Caraga State University, College of Computing and Information Sciences, Center for Human-Computer Interaction, Department of Social Welfare and Development, DSWD-ICT, DSWD-Records Office, and others who extended their help and most especially to the DSWD-CSU Digitization Project team led by Prof. Jaymer M.
