The Bachelor of Science in Information Technology program includes the study of the utilization of both hardware and software technologies involving planning, installing, customizing, operating, managing and administering, and maintaining an information technology infrastructure that provides computing solutions to address the needs of an organization.

 

Program Description

The Bachelor of Science in Information Technology program includes the study of the utilization of both hardware and software technologies involving planning, installing, customizing, operating, managing and administering, and maintaining an information technology infrastructure that provides computing solutions to address the needs of an organization.

 

The program prepares graduates to address various user needs involving the section, development, application, integration, and management of computing technologies within an organization.

 

The graduates are expected to have the following skills:

  • Programming for software and web development.
  • Managing, maintaining, and installation of software applications in Client and Server.
  • Basic networking (configuration and installation) and network security
  • Database Design and Implementation

 

In addition, the graduates of BS Information Technology (BSIT) in Caraga State University (CSU) under the College of Computing and Information Sciences (CCIS) are honed to be innovative and solution-oriented. They are trained and geared carefully with knowledge and skills in software design and development, and computer programming. Software Development is in alignment with Artificial Intelligence specific to Machine Learning and Data Analytics.

 

The software design and development niche inculcated to the graduates was in pursuit of Technology Entrepreneurship (Technopreneurship) for startups. The program provides an avenue for students with bright and marketable ideas for incubation with the help of Navigatu, a Tech Hub center funded by DOST-PCIEERD.

 

Thus, BSIT graduates are expected to be globally competent, innovative, and socially and ethically responsible computing professionals engaged in life-long learning endeavors. Capable of contributing to the country’s national development goals.
